The Paco Rabanne label, which is owned by the fragrance company Puig, had been on the bottom for several seasons. The new creative director for this season Manish Arora turned back to the archives for inspiration.
Arora designed archly feminine formal and cocktail dresses with exaggerated hourglass waists and sharp shoulders. Some of the models are pure science fiction in flashing iridescent metallic organzas, linked plastics, and paillettes. Some rippled with beads that looked like fiber optics. More than anything, the silhouette actually recalled Mugler, the Thierry variety.
Mini dresses were shaped with exaggerated hips, some with panels that looked like crystal formations.
