Great and legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor died on Wednesday March 23rd at age 79.
She will be remembered with her roles in”Cleopatra” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” as well as her style in fashion. The loved actress died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles surrounded by family after a long battle with congestive heart failure that sent her to the hospital six weeks ago.
Liz Taylor first gained fame in 1944’s “National Velvet” at age 12 and was nominated for five Oscars. She won the best actress award for “Butterfield 8″ (1960) and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” (1966) with actor Richard Burton, whom she would marry twice.
Taylor’s eight marriages, health problems, prescription drug addiction and ballooning weight often overshadowed her career, but she overcame adversity and used her fame to advocate for causes such as AIDS education and research.
Elizabeth Taylor died surrounded by her children, Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton. She is survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Speaking for her family was her son, Michael Wilding, who called his mother, “an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love.”

By the implementation of intransient cultural values and the experience of the European Commission throughout the last decade, the Program “Fashion Europe” with its 127 activities, inseverably connected with education, culture, sport and charity is complemented and concretized for the achievement the European intercultural dialogue with the rest of the World.
By all rules of the elegant diplomacy and the diplomatic protocol with the unanimous decision of the 13 member-states, the European Fashion Council sent an invitation to the President of Republic of France Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy for his High Honorable Patronage for the forthcoming introduction of the program in the European Parliament in Strasburg and its approval and realization in benefit of United Europe.
