The famous pop star Madonna and and Iconix Brand Group announced they are to launch a fashion brand together. The brand is called “Material Girl” after Madge’s nickname and famous album. The company, MG Icon, will be 50 percent owned by Iconix and 50 percent by Madonna and her manager, and it will hold a license to use the singer’s name for clothes, footwear and other products. The new joint venture will start with launching a juniors collection which will be sold at Macy’s department stores and online hopefully in August.
