Oscars 2010 Fashion

March 9, 2010

Here are some of the red carpet fashion attire at the Oscars 2010.

Jake Gyllenhaal plays supportive sibling for his nominated sister Maggie, but his dapper red carpet look — a well-fitting classic Burberry suit — actually outshines her style. We love color on the red carpet, but the fit of her Dries Van Noten gown was all wrong.

Carey Mulligan looked adorable and modern in a beautiful Prada dress with strangely dangling scissors, forks, and spoons and asymmetrical hem.

Maggie Gyllenhaal dressed in a fresh blue print Dries Van Notten column that is not the best red carpet choice to our opinion.

Zoe Saldana made an appearance in a hyacinth-colored dress, simply sparkling at the bodice but ending in abundance of  purple frills.

Charlize Theron wore a Dior light purple gown. The two-toned pink gown included two rosettes directly on her bust. It is definitely a bit more than a good taste could take. Unfortunately it is the only thing that you could really look at, it didn’t matter what the rest of the dress looked like.

Kristen Stewart Oscars 2010

Twilight’s leading actress Kristen Stewart is one of the biggest fashion winners on the red carpet at the 2010 Oscars.

Kristen Stewart was wearing a deep midnight blue strapless gown by Monique Lhuillier. Her hair was in a fashion bun and her look was finished by simple makeup. Kristen Stewart has already made the best dressed Oscars 2010 lists for numerous style critics, perhaps because her usual look is so contrastingly casual.

Keira Knightley in Miu Miu Naked Woman and Puppy Prints

March 5, 2010

A good quirky print can go a long way. We had to smile when we saw Keira Knightley in this Miu Miu ensemble from the brand’s Spring 2010 collection. Knightley wore a beige lady print silk blouse with a red collar and a puppy printed skirt to the Laurence Olivier Awards Nominees Luncheon party in London today. We call this chic clothing with a sense of humor!

Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab Strapless Dress

February 1, 2010

After prooving the split rumors untrue, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt stepped out to attend the Directors Guild Awards 2010 to present an award to Quentin Tarantino for Inglorious Bastards.  Angelina Jolie was wearing a strapless green chiffon gown by Elie Saab and shoes by Stuart Weitzman. Stuart Weitzman is obviously her favourite shoes and boots designer. The strapless dress look is definitely a flattering look that is a top choice for Angelina Jolie.

Avatar The Highest Grossing Movie

January 28, 2010

The most famous movie at the moment Avatar is the highest-grossing movie ever. Avatar outperformed the Titanic to become the greatest grossing film ever, numbers from distributer 20th Century Fox reveal. It beated the worldwide box-office record of Titanic’s $1.843billion US on Monday, with tallies coming in at $1.859 billion. But can it reach Titanic at the Oscars nominations on Feb 2? Titanic, which starred Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, set a fresh box office record on its release in 1997-1998 with 14 nods, and ended up with 11 Academy Awards, equalling another record set by Ben-Hur (later joined by The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King).

Director James Cameron holds the significant eminence of directing both the world’s top grossing films.

The greatest film of all time in North America carries on to be Gone with the Wind in 1939.

The film, starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh, took ticket sales of just about $1.5 billion (£929m), reported to tracking firm Box Office Mojo.

If the same decrees are enforced to Avatar, then the film in reality ranks at number 26.

Avatar – Cameron’s newest epic – won 2 Golden Globes last week, and is anticipated to garner an Academy Award nomination next month.

Ralph Lauren in St. Moritz Ski Resort

January 5, 2010

Ralph Lauren store opened doors in Swiss ski resort St. Moritz. The new luxurious retail outlet has teak ceilings, rich lacquer cherry walls and limestone floors as it is not easy to compete with other luxurious brands in the neighborhood like Tyler Brûlé. The famous Alpine Ski resort clientele is Russian Oligarchs, European and Arab royalties and other jet-setters. But Ralph Lauren definitely knows how to impress and flatter his clients. St. Moritz has become not only a ski but also boutique and shopping destination hosting brands from Ernesto Ducati to online retailer Fam Botsche.
