Martha Davis has been designing all her life, but with the launch of her 2009 footwear collections, she makes her first foray into fashion. “I have always loved fashion, but never had the guts to do it. The constant pace at which you have to design and design and design was incredibly intimidating.”
It’s Davis’ keen industrial designer eye for a clean, functional and modern product that makes her such an intriguing shoe designer. She has a product designer’s understanding of problem solving and the nuts-and-bolts knowledge of the mechanics of elegant design. Here is her Fall/Winter 2010-2011 collection. The gold leather open-toe shoes, booties and boots are the hit of the shoe collection. They all have a designer shaped heel, platform or centered heel and look very comfortable.
